For the past 4 years, Lake Houston Chapter has donated stitched needlepoint items to Yellowstone Academy for their silent auction. Yellowstone is a non-profit organization founded in 2003 to educate Houston's inner city children who live below the poverty line. All school books, uniforms and school meals are provided to these children from Yellowstone's funds. Lake Houston is proud to say that in the past 4 years, our stitched pieces have raised $63,000 to benefit this wonderful group. This year's fundraiser luncheon was attended by many of our members, and we had the pleasure of having our picture taken with Mrs. Barbara Bush, the keynote speaker.
